As it was as a shorter day the peleton started off at a sedate pace day the weather and scenery was magnificent.

We all stopped at the Falls of Shin, where the salmon leap, I did my Emmeline Pankhurst impression by chaining my bike to the railings, only to find that the combination lock would not open.

Every body had a go at releasing me, to no avail, I told them all to go on and I would wait for the backup vehicle, I must have reset the lock when closing it - eventually I found a combination that worked.

Steve (Bike Adventures) was on his way with pliers, hacksaw and bolt croppers and was a bit put out to receive a message that I was free, I could not convince anyone that I must have reset the lock, they all assumed that the old fool had forgotten the number.

We were advised to stop at the Crask Inn where this eccentric old sheep farmer ran a pub in the middle of no-where, if you order food you got food but not necessarily what you wanted - drinks are never the same price but he charges by appearances or whether he like you.

After waiting for 20 minutes for 2 sandwiches some of the peleton went on without being served.

The rest of us had one drink, which was very cheap and went on our way.

John and I pushed on a bit faster for the last 25 miles but he left me standing on the last hill.

Andy who left a few minutes before us was first to arrive.

Still no joy with my camera so I have reverted to my iphone for photos.
