Another glorious sunny day with ideal temperatures, a light North Westerly wind made progress more challenging.
The visibility was superb and it showed off the Yorkshire Dales in its true glory.
This stage was billed as the most difficult with 5 very long climbs, the steepest being up to Dent station 20% for 1 mile then climbing over 10% for a further 2 miles.
Our peleton today was Andy,Derek,Paula,Mike and myself, Martin and Pete joined us on route, all riders completed the difficult climbs with determination and at good pace.
Andy who has always been in the mid-field on the steep climbs dug deeper and completed the Dent climb way ahead of the peleton, he has obviously been holding his true ability back.
Martin joined our group for the first time and has shown us that he is well able to hold his own in our peleton.
John, who was staying in a different hotel started an hour behind us. We did not meet up with him on the way but he still arrived an hour before the main peleton.
All riders completed the stage.
