After a challenging course yesterday, this one was more difficult.
It started with a long climb up over Bodmin Moor then descending into river valleys with steep climbs back out.
Geoff and Dave made an early break from the peleton but had a long stop at Minions to let the others catch up.
We rode down into Tavistock then had the long steep ascent up onto Dartmoor
I was leading the peleton out of Tavistock when we were overtaken by another cyclist. Geoff said "We can't let him get away with that Rob lets catch him!".
The temperature was 27C with a five mile climb in front of us I decided against the challenge but Geoff was on his tail he never overtook him but got within talking distance and arrived at our lunch stop, the Dartmoor Inn, several minutes ahead of us.
The climb continued after lunch up and down over Dartmoor then we descended down a very narrow track only to have another series of climbs to Whiddon, the steepest being 20%.
The weather was once again very kind to us with practically continuous sunshine, a light NE breeze made the high temperature very fresh and it was not strong enough to be an impediment.
The scenery throughout the ride was stunning with exceptional visibility.
