There are 8 riders in the return group, I have not had time to talk to them yet as I was celebrating with the other group last night and seeing them off this morning.
We assembled at John O'Groats at 8:45am and had our briefing, it was 8 C and overcast with a cold NE wind blowing.
The 2 Canadians were off to brisk start, covering the first 9.5 miles in 30 minutes, they took the Dunnet Head route, I took the direct route.
I rode the rest of the stage by myself, the sun came out at mid-day giving a glorious sunny afternoon, visibility was improving all the time.
The first half of the stage was fairly flat the second half was a series of climbs and descents.
All riders completed the stage.in good time.
