THE COURSE IS - 70 MILES - WITH 4,200 FEET OF CLIMB


The ride starts at Bishopstone heading East then North to Wilton continuing in an anticlockwise direction.


A long flat section follows up through the Wyle Valley.


Turn left for a very short spell on to the A350 then right to Shear Water, cross straight over at Maiden Bradley to Stour Head.


Turn right at the sign to Gasper which takes you up Pen Hill the first real climb of the day.


A long descent continuing through Penselwood brings you to the A303 turn right pass underneath the main road then right to Stoke Trister.


A steep climb up through Cucklington brings you out to stunning panoramic views across the Blackmore Vale, Somerset.


Foyle Hill is very steep and prepares the legs for Gold Hill.


Gold Hill famous for its picturesque appearance is 21% with cobbles a challenging but short ride.


(On my 70th birthday I rode up Gold Hill and was greeted by a round of applause from the customers sitting outside the restaurant at the top - it made my day!)


The third climb in quick succesion, though modest by comparison, is Zig Zag Hill which takes you up to Win Green.


A long descent leads into the Chalke Valley and back to Bishopstone.
